How to Change MX Entries in Linux Accounts?

Brains Technologies manages your e-mail through its own mail server. However, by altering your MX (Mail Exchange Record) Entry you can point your e-mail to another mail server, if this is required. Brains Technologies will not be able to manage your e-mail if you change your MX Entry setting. Do not change your MX Entry unless you know what you are doing.

[1] Access your control panel at http://www.yourdomain.com.com/cpanel [ Example : www.brainsindia.com/cpanel ]

Notes
You must have port 2082 access enabled in your internet connection to access this control panel. Usually it is enabled, but if you are in a network and if your are not able to access this, please contact your network admin and enable this port.
If you access as www.yourdomain.com/cpanel it will take minimum upto 48 hrs to reflect from the time registration of the domain to access your cPanel.

[2] Supply the user name & password.

[3] To access the MAIL MENU, click on the Mail icon on the main screen of your cPanel interface.

[4] Click on Modify Mail Exchanger (MX Entry).

[5] The current MX entries will be listed under DNS File MX Entry Maintenance. Click on Change an MX Entry to modify one of those entries.

[6] Select from the drop box, the domain you wish to change the entry for.

Notes
Invalid domain names will not work.

[7] Enter the new destination domain in the blank field and click Change.

Notes
If the entry was added changed successfully, the following will appear --MX Entry Saved--
For Example, the MX entry for domain.com has been changed to domain2.com
The local mail configuration has been updated!
